This highly efficient design comes from the National Geographic Preserve Our Planet collection and gives you two options for decreasing your energy consumption. The top solar panel powers four long-lasting (up to 50,000 hours) LED lights. Because the LED lights are lit automatically by a light-sensing switch, they offer dusk-to-dawn security light that is ideal for entry areas. When you need extra light, turn on the energy efficient CFL bulb. Please note that the CFL light requires hard-wired installation and is not solar powered.

Dark Sky ordinances have been built into many new building codes. The new rules seek to curb light pollution from outdoor lighting fixtures cutting the amount of lighting aimed into the night sky. We carry new outdoor light designs that are fully Dark Sky compliant. They feature different kinds of reflectors, shields and cut-offs that prevent the light throw from pointing upwards. This style of lighting can create a softer, more visually pleasing look at night. It can also be more functional.
